Gorlin Syndrome is an genetic disorder, also known as Nevoid Basal Cell Carcinoma Syndrome, Gorlin-Goltz Syndrome, and Basal Cell Nevus Syndrome. Patients with this syndrome are predisposed to cancer, especially multiple Basal Cell Carcinomas, and congenital malformations. Characteristics of Gorlin syndrome include jaw cysts, multiple basal cell carcinomas (at an early age), palmar pits, and a family history of the syndrome.
