Lymphangioma is a malformation of the lymphatic system, which is the network of circulation vessels responsible for returning excess fluid from tissues. A Lymphangioma malformation can occur at any age; it can be either congenital or acquired; and may involve any part of the body, but 90% occur in children less than 2 years of age and involve the head and neck.
