Smith Magenis Syndrome is a developmental disorder that affects multiple organ systems of the body. The disorder is characterized by a pattern of abnormalities that are present at birth as well as behavioral and cognitive challenges.  Common symptoms include a flat head shape, prominent forehead, slow development of the mid-face, broad nasal bridge, downturned corners of the mouth, upward slanting eyes, skeletal malformations, and varying degrees of intellectual disability.
