Colleen Wheatley

Colleen Wheatley became involved with AboutFace as a child and is grateful for the opportunities it gave her to be active in the facial difference community and the support she has received over the years. Over time she has learned that living with a facial difference can come with a mixture of feelings, sometimes being proud and confident, other times self-conscious and shy, it took time to realize that is okay.
Colleen has a Master of Social Work and is currently working in educational, community (and when she is lucky enough, camp!) settings. Colleen continues to be involved with AboutFace as a volunteer (and as a staff member for several years) and is so proud to see the accomplishments of Camp Trailblazers and AboutFace alumnus over the years. And she is now happy to be the Social Worker on the AboutFace team, focusing on resource and publication development.
