Camp Trailblazers

Camp Trailblazers is the only camp in Canada for children and youth 8-18 living with a facial difference.

Through creating a fun, safe and inclusive environment, camp becomes a place to build life-long friendships with people who share similar life experiences. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs and activities. Along the way, campers grow as they learn different ways to maintain strong mental and social health. Living with a facial difference is a challenging experience, and it is important that children and youth with facial differences know that they are not alone in their journey.

Each year, we meet new campers and welcome back old friends, growing our network of friends who stay connected and who go on to form a valuable support network for each other.

Camp is held virtually and in various locations across Canada.

Virtual Camp Trailblazers programming will now be available for five weeks this summer! There will be four days of programming each week, which includes a family session.

*NEW* We have added two in-person programs for families called Trailblazers on the Road. See below for more details.

Trailblazers on the Road!

We are excited to introduce Trailblazers on the Road! This is an in-person camp opportunity for families (with kids ages 6-17). We are starting off with two locations in Ontario with the hopes of making it to a couple more locations in the fall (Public Health Guidelines permitting). Programs will be limited to 20 participants which includes kids and parents/guardians. Parents/guardians will be expected to be present for the entirety of the program. We will also keep a waitlist in case we can accept more families to the program.

This summer, join us for our Retro-themed Trailblazers on the Road Program! We are throwing it back to the days of tie-dye and jazzercise. This program is free and will have activities for the whole family! Trailblazers on the Road will be coming:

  • August 14 in Vaughan at Boyd Park Conservation Area at 1:00pm. Registration closes on July 31.
  • August 21 in London at Springbank Park at 1:00pm. Registration closes on August 7.

We will be following all the up-to-date local public health guidelines and using the Ontario Day Camp 2021 guidelines to guide our programming. Participants will be subject to COVID Pre-Screening before arrival to the program. Vaccines are not required at these programs.

On the registration site, this program is available under Camp Trailblazers Summer 2021.

If you have any questions, please email info@aboutface.ca with CAMP in the subject line.
