Virtual Camp Trailblazers

Welcome to Virtual Camp Trailblazers!

Virtual Camp Trailblazers turns the fun and friendship of camp into online camp sessions with campers from across the country!  

Each week kids with facial differences and their siblings can join AboutFace staff and volunteers to explore the theme of the week! Campers ages 6 and up can join.

Virtual Camp Trailblazers will run for five weeks and begins July 7. Sessions will be held three days per week live on Zoom for 60-90 minutes.

Before camp starts, you will receive a package of all the supplies your kids will need for camp!

Your kids can attend as many sessions as they want for the cost of $80 for the entire summer. Subsidized rates are also available.

Registrations must be received by June 22, any receieved after that date may not receive their camp-in-a-box pacakge in time.

Each session will have several components:

A camper welcome and introduction, themed activity, a virtual campfire that allows campers to show off a talent as well as our BEADS program: a program that gives campers the opportunity to reflect on their sessions and earn some meaningful beads for their camp bracelet 

July 6th – July 10th – Jungle Week

We kick off the summer with our Jungle Week! Campers participate in a jungle gear craft, using the camp in a box supplies to make the best jungle hat. The next jungle week activity is planting, campers will decorate a planting pot and plant seeds while learning the importance of photosynthesis and taking care of their plant.

July 13th – July 17th – Robot Week 

Robot week gets our campers moving! We kick it off with a Robot craft and later that week we throw on our robot heads and dancing shoes. A special guest will be joining us and leading a Zumba class!

July 20th – July 24th – Story Week  

All three of our story week sessions are run by Story Planet nonprofit organization dedicated to amplifying voices and improving literacy skills through non-traditional creative learning experiences. By the end of the week, Campers will have a completed story to share with the whole family!

July 27th – July 31st  Spy Week  

This week we become secret spies! We kick off the week with hiding in plain sight. Campers will create their own spy name and learn to use codes to create hidden messages. Next session our spies will train for mission impossible with a laser hall

August 3rd – August 7th Space Week  

This week we BLAST off into space! We kick off with a scavenger hunt of space using Google Sky. Campers will have the chance to navigate the sky while challenging their peers in a planet-finding competition. Next campers will get to make a Kaleidoscope.
