Stories From Our Community

person

Kelsey

We are so much more than how we appear. Society needs to change how it sees people with differences. I promise you, there is much more that what meets the eye. We, as humans, are more alike that we are different. People with differences systemically experience prejudice, bullying and intolerance on a daily basis. Don’t assume you know someone before you have to see (really see) and get to know someone before you really know them and what they are capable of. We are so much more than what we look like. Not many people would expect me to be a communications major at a large Canadian university just by looking at me. I’ve always been a writer and have always found it important to tell the stories of those who have been marginalized in society. We, as a human race, need to be more inclusive as a society. We have a long way to go. Never judge someone solely based on appearance. We are so much more than that.
